Claremont
Moroccan-hammam-inspired guest suite
Guest Suite Renovation
The Claremont house is nestled into a hillside at the end of a quiet, charming, tree-lined street. Its residents, an active professional couple with 2 young children and very affectionate cats, hoped to update their guest suite to provide their visiting friends and aging parents a peaceful, comfortable, and accessible retreat.
We renovated the guest bedroom and bathroom to create a sanctuary inspired by Moroccan hammams. The deep green walls and walnut-stained floors of the bedroom create a cocooning sense of comfort, while hints of gold and color in the sconces and bedside tables add a touch of quiet luxury and visual interest.
The adjoining ensuite bathroom is a showstopper, featuring floor-to-ceiling glazed zellige tile in creamy neutral tones. They pair beautifully with the burst of color in the Moroccan-inspired floor tiles and the luster of the polished chrome Rohl plumbing fixtures and accessories. The enameled cast iron sink, arched mirror, and terracotta pendant lights round out the space’s distinctive personality.
With globally-inspired colors and elements, this guest suite now welcomes friends and family to enjoy a soothing and luxurious experience right in their home.
